Imagine you have just received your acceptance letter to the college or university of your dreams! Everything seems right with the world and your dreams seem like they are within reach…then you realize just how much it is going to cost to attend. Even though college has become more affordable there are still students out there who need a little bit of help! That is where I come in! I am the person who creates scholarships from the generous donations of alumni and community members.
This foray into development is my third major career change and I am still reeling from the detour. Its funny how we think we know exactly what it is that we want to do in life and then find ourselves doing something COMPLETELY different. I do not have any fundraising or development experience but I have always been a quick learner. Yet I cannot help but feel a little bit nervous with making such a huge change. Is there anyone else out there who has had another career change? Please share your experiences, I would love to hear about it!
